A Sky Garden: London Adventures – Inspires Adventure

The Sky Garden is London’s highest public garden and on a sunny, cloud free day it offers panoramic views of London! Being the 5th tallest building in the capital, this is a great way to see the London skyline for free and unwind in a garden in the sky!

Once you reach 20 Fenchurch Street a.k.a. Walkie Talkie tower you’ll need to scan you ticket at the barrier and go through security. After that, the express lift will whisk you up to the 36th floor in 30 seconds where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the city below and the famous London skyline!

Once you step out of the lift, you’ll be in an open space surrounded by natural light and greenery! Take in the views from a comfy sofa whilst maybe enjoying a snack/drink.

IMG_1589Fully admire the 360 degree views of London by walking around the top floor which has huge glass windows and an open air terrace. I loved the fact that there are handy plaques which point out the major landmarks such as Tower Bridge! (It sadly was stormy when I visited!)

There is a middle and upper floor which takes you a little higher and these are linked by a stairway going through the garden. The garden has many different trees and flowers but it wasn’t as extensive as I was expecting.

You could extend your visit by having a meal in the restaurant or even watching the sunset/city lights!

This is a popular attraction with both locals and tourists alike and tickets are sold out pretty fast! I would recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment! (Tickets are typically released on Monday morning for the following week.)

A visit to The Sky Garden is an enjoyable experience and you get a great view of the London skyline for free! There is a very relaxed atmosphere which makes it a perfect place to leave the hustle and bustle behind and unwind for a few hours!

    1. Hi Chah, the Sky Garden is open daily, unless it says in their website that it’s closed for an event. The advance tickets are released on Mondays and a small number of tickets are available on the day – it is always free to visit 🙂 Hope this helps! ~ Inspires Adventure
