Christmas in London is truly magical! There is no better place to spend the holidays, after all the Victorian tradition originates from England! Christmas is one of my favourite times of year and I love spending it with friends and family in the Capital! Here’s my Christmas in London recommendations for: shopping, Christmas Markets and Ice Skating!
Shopping – Oxford Street
It has to be Oxford Street! Walk the most iconic street in London from start to finish! Be warned, this will take you a couple of hours! Start either at Tottenham Court Road underground station or Marble Arch and walk under the twinkling lights, past festive shop displays and shop at all the major high street brands! It’s perfect for buying last minute gifts, window shopping or just getting into the festive spirit! It’s always fun checking out John Lewis or Selfridges at this time of year!
Christmas Markets – Christmas By The River
Winter Wonderland is the most popular Christmas event but I think Christmas By The River is a great alternative! There are 68 market stalls selling food, drink and cute handmade gifts along the river walk from London Bridge to Tower Bridge. It’s a lovely festive walk and you get to see the city skyline lit up by night! It’s not as busy and crowded which makes it a more relaxing experience.
Ice Skating – Tower of London
This is a fun winter activity and if you fancy ice skating visit the ice rink at Tower of London. Not only is it one of the cheapest (£14.50 per adult), it has a stunning backdrop whilst you skate!
Finish off the day with dinner in Leicester square and maybe a Nutella crepe at the Christmas Markets on the way home?
Merry Christmas and hope you enjoy a festive day in the capital!
