London – Things To Do

London is one of the most iconic capitals in the world and is incredibly popular with tourists! I love being a Londoner and the buzz of the city is my favourite thing – there is always something to do! Contrary to what people may think: the Brits are friendly; it’s not always raining and you do really have to mind the gap! No matter what month you visit, here are my top 10 things you should do when in London!

Covent Garden/Leicester Square
Soho is right in the heart of London and has a fantastic atmosphere! It’s a great place to visit either in the day or night and is a good option for shopping, drinks or a meal!

River Cruise
A boat trip down the River Thames is a great way to see the sights and the bridges! Equally a walk along the riverside, passing bridges and perhaps stopping at Borough Market is also enjoyable! If you are daring why not try this wacky way to sightsee London?

Regents Park
This is my favourite park in London and it’s so pretty to walk around! Enjoy a walk through the beautiful rose gardens; have a picnic or visit London Zoo!

Buckingham Palace
The Royal Family are an icon of Britain and everyone loves The Queen! Definitely worth stopping off at and seeing the changing of the guards!

Olympic Park – Stratford
Home to the London 2012 games, there is plenty to see and do here! You can enjoy: a walk in the park; see the stadiums; climb/slide the ArcelorMittal Orbit or go shopping at Westfield Stratford. (Read more about a day in Stratford here)

Oxford Street
The most famous shopping street in London with many famous high street brands. Maybe a trip to Harrods or maybe just Primark…?!

Science Museum/Natural History Museum/British Museum
All of these 3 museums are free to visit and are fascinating to wonder around! You can easily spend half a day at each and it’s a good place to immerse yourself in If the weather is bad!

West End
The theatre is truly magical and there is nothing quite like seeing a show! This is an experience I highly recommend!

Big Ben & Westminster
These are both iconic landmarks unique to London, you can’t go home without a snap in front of them!
